Koydol Hires Michael Marange as New Vice President of Sales & Business Development

Koydol, the commercial flooring brand started in 2012, is launching its franchise opportunity this year with a proven business model, a valuable network of clients, and the backing of a continuously growing exceptional leadership team. The latest addition to that leadership team is Michael Marange, a commercial flooring industry expert with over 20 years of experience in sales and business development.

“I was raised in the flooring industry and worked for a couple of the largest manufacturers in the world,” said Marange. “I also spent time in my family's installation and retail business before entering the commercial sector. When Koydol reached out looking for a leadership position this year, I knew it was the perfect fit.”

The Koydol Flooring brand was created by CEO Amadou T Agne following 15 years of experience in the commercial flooring segment. The turning point for the brand came when Agne designed a dedicated, international estimating team, which would allow Koydol to bypass the industry’s traditional barriers and get attractive proposals in front of general contractors he would not have otherwise had access to.

As a result, one of the largest general contractors in the U.S. hired Koydol to complete the ceramic tile for the MGM National Harbor in Maryland in 2016. Now, Koydol is launching its franchise opportunity to give entrepreneurs the opportunity to leverage their proven business model.

“I was already aware of what Koydol was doing in the market and was impressed with the business plan to expand into the franchise sector,” said Marange. “I saw the level of operational systems and tech-driven processes Koydol was implementing in order to stand out in a traditionally less-sophisticated industry. Koydol utilizes their past experience to offer a more effective sales and operational process compared to other companies, so franchisees can be confident in their business.”

Koydol franchisees have access to fully cloud-based, proprietary systems to ensure consistent efficiency across all areas of the business. Additionally, Koydol’s robust network of established clients and aggressive proposal process help franchisees secure major projects faster, while the brand’s expert corporate team provides decades of in-depth experience in the commercial flooring industry.

“Working for other commercial flooring companies, I saw what was missing in the industry, and Koydol offers that infrastructure to make sure franchisees are successful,” said Marange. “I’ve seen other flooring contractors attempt to open up branches or satellite offices, and it was very difficult operationally to do that, so I was very impressed with the preparation and the story behind how Koydol was going to position franchisees for success in other markets.”

That preparation includes an innovative target growth strategy that will increase individual franchisee’s potential revenue by allowing a small number of owners to operate large territories. Each territory will be large enough to reach $5–$10 million in projects after the fifth year of being in business. Koydol will also open the market for the franchisee, bidding on target markets prior to granting the territory to the franchisee so they can start generating revenue right away.

Now, Marange will leverage his sales expertise to offer additional support to incoming franchisees by teaching them how to best develop their business in their market using Koydol’s established processes and systems.

“I will use my experience in the flooring business and duplicate those in a franchise development role, explaining the brand to new potential franchise owners and helping them build their own successful business,” he said.

Marange says his goal is to launch franchisee-owned territories in Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Starting next year, the brand aims to add 10–15 new territories per year, with a goal to cover all major metropolitan areas within the next five years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marange to the Koydol family and are looking forward to adding another qualified industry expert to the team,” said Agne. “Moving forward, Marange will undoubtedly be a key player as we launch the Koydol franchise across the country.”

The cost to open a Koydol franchise ranges from $79,500 to $122,000, including a $30,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Koydol, visit http://www.koydolflooring.com/#buy.
